VIEW BALLOONSKnowing how to inflate and tie a balloon properly is the first step in your balloon-y career! Whether you’re a seasoned balloon enthusiast, self-taught, or just looking for a quick refresher, take a look at this post packed full of resources from Qualatex to learn more!

When inflating round latex balloons, you should be aiming for a teardrop shape. Even though latex can balloons stretch well beyond their intended sizes, over inflating them will result in them having a pear-like shape. When latex balloons are underinflated, they have a round shape– practice will make perfect!
Note that this rule doesn’t apply to larger sizes such as 30″-36″ balloons, they are made slightly different and should end up a round shape.
Getting balloon sizes right is critical for achieving a uniform, professional finish. For the right-sized balloon every time, use Balloon Sizing Templates that are available from our store! Simply inflate the balloon, slide it through the template, and release the helium or air until the balloon can be pulled through the template. Watch the video below for more details and a demonstration!
